Self Portrait II

Self Portrait II

2008 · Acrylic on canvas · 36" × 48"

A continuation of the self-portrait series, exploring different lighting conditions and emotional states.

The second in a series of self-portraits, this piece explores the visual expression of bipolarity. Paired with the first self portrait, this painting is near polar opposite. It is full color, in a dark room with a single harsh light source. The subject once clothed with hair is now bald and unclothed, eyes and mouth closed.
